Cristovisión is a Colombian subscription television channel broadcasting religious programming. It is owned by the Cristovisión Foundation.
It issues guidance programs such as the Liturgy of the Hours, the Holy Rosary, the Eucharist, broadcasts of events and liturgical celebrations of the Pope, mainly from the Vatican City, documentaries, interviews, and children's programs.
In 2002, Father Ramón Zambrano Echeverry had the initiative to get the mass to be broadcast on television nationwide. Channel One began broadcasting it on Sundays at 7:30 am Thereafter several operators cooperated to create a channel for the Colombian Catholic community.
For 15 months, the Cristovisión Foundation began the process of creating the channel, which was financed by private entrepreneurs, the Holy See, the dioceses of Fontibón, Zipaquirá, the Bishopric of Castile, Popular Cultural Action and the communities of the Dominicans, the Augustinians Recoletos, the Redemptorists and the Paulines. Initially, it was launched as a test signal, until the official inauguration on November 13, 2008, in the Cathedral of the Diocese of Fontibón, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, in addition to some bishops, priests, religious and laypeople.
The canal is operating in the center of Fontibón in a 1200m2 headquarters with 100 employees. The channel is available on satellite New Sky 806.
