Watch Sachsen Fernsehen live from Germany
The Sachsen Fernsehen is a private regional television from Chemnitz.
This regional broadcaster began on October 4, 1993, with the half-hour program "Lokal TV Chemnitz", later to become the "Chemnitz turntable", which, like a workday regional window, interrupted the VOX broadcast analogously on terrestrial channel 45 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The repetition took place from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., also on weekdays, on channel 47, on which the program was broadcast by RTL.
Since July 1, 1999, together with the regional “Chemnitz Fernsehen”, the all-day joint “Sachsen Fernsehen”, organized by “ Dresden Fernsehen ” and “ Leipzig Fernsehen ”, can be seen on the terrestrial channel previously used by RTL. This program, operated by Sachsen Fernsehen GmbH & Co. TV-Betriebs KG even included fictional entertainment formats and showed some older television series and feature films from the Kirch Group's archive at prime time.
From April 2001 to July 2002, the Sun TV coat range was broadcast. In SunTV there was a program offering the Kirch Group, which was acquired solely by various metropolitan stations in Germany, which shows like Blondes Gift with Barbara Schöneberger and WIB-swing with Wigald Boning in parts of Saxony were receivable. In the course of the bankruptcy of the Kirch Group, Suntv discontinued this coat program.
When the cooperation ended due to financial difficulties, Sachsen Fernsehen GmbH & Co. Fernseh-Betriebs KG in Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig transferred the broadcasting to regional partners.
In March 2012, Sachsen Fernsehen won the award for the best regional news journal in Germany with the show Drehscheibe Chemnitz at RegioStar 2012.
On May 30, 2013, that Saxony television along with its sister stations were announced, television Leipzig due to its annual loss of 180,000 euros will be set in late September 2013.
After the station was originally scheduled to be shut down at the end of September 2013 - just like that of Leipzig Fernsehen - for economic reasons, it was announced on August 11 that the operation of both stations with the support of Dresdner Haeswe GmbH has now been secured. To this end, the production company was specifically FiS - television in Sachsen GmbH founded, which produces now the program of Saxony television in Leipzig and Chemnitz.
The background to this is that the - exclusively local - advertising revenue is not sufficient to maintain operations without regular subsidies from the shareholders and/or the "self-exploitation" of the employees. Nothing had changed in the structural problems, but a slimming down of the staff was to be expected and the broadcasters hoped-for state subsidies for regional television broadcasters, such as in the Free State of Bavaria, especially in the financing of line costs.
At the beginning of 2016, Sachsen Fernsehen in Chemnitz was renamed Chemnitz Fernsehen . The overall name "Sachsen Fernsehen" remains unaffected.
On April 1, 2019, Sachsen Fernsehen was nominated in 5 categories for the regional television award, which resulted in an award for the best news moderation for Leipzig television.
