Bon Dia Televisió is the new digital platform for audiovisual content throughout the territories of the Catalan linguistic area.
In a global framework in which the Internet has become the usual source of audiovisual consumption, we are witnessing, on the one hand, the globalization of television formulas and, on the other, the need for citizens to dispose and consumer products that bring them closer to their immediate reality.
Bon Dia TV aims to establish synergies with proximity television stations - increasingly present in the digital environment - to take advantage of resources and strengthen the Catalan communication space to facilitate the production and circulation of audiovisual products.
In an increasingly interconnected information society, the media play a key role in preserving the local identities of citizens who seek cultural proximity and their own identification in the global communicative space.
That is why the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation (CCMA) and the Public Broadcasting Company of the Balearic Islands (EPRTVIB) create Bon Dia TV.
A model based on a relationship from the full equality of each of the parts of the project. A digital platform that issues the contents of the two television stations in order to create a sense of proximity in which we can recognize that we have more affinities than differences, common interests, and a language that manifests itself in different variants depending on the territory.
The programming has a marked social and cultural character and is made up of documentaries, series, feature films, travel programs, cuisine, literature, culture, science, traditions, and sports.
The regular broadcasts of Televisió de Catalunya (TVC) began in January of 1984 and nine months later they arrived in the counties of the north of Castellón and the Franja de Ponent to finish in 1985 penetrating all the Valencian Country, the Balearic Islands, Catalonia North and the Principality of Andorra. These first emissions were possible thanks to the involvement of civic and cultural entities in these territories, which was responsible for installing and maintaining television transport networks, sometimes with the help of the respective government and the commitment of the Government of Catalonia, as in the case of the Balearic Islands.
The Public Broadcasting Agency of the Balearic Islands (EPRTVIB) was created through Law 7/85, of May 22, and began broadcasts in 2005.
The Generalitat of Catalonia and the Balearic Government signed the agreement to reciprocate the broadcasts of public television channels TV3 and IB3 on January 22, 2009, with the aim of creating a television space in Catalan. On November 1, 2012, however, IB3 was no longer seen in Catalonia. Regarding the Balearic Islands, on March 31, 2015, they were no longer broadcast on 3/24 and Super 3/33, and only the TV3CAT channel was maintained, with free broadcast programming for international broadcasting.
On September 16, 2016, the government of the Balearic Islands, together with the Public Broadcasting Agency of the Balearic Islands (EPRTVIB) and the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation (CCMA), once again made the reciprocity of the broadcasts of 'IB3 and TV3 in the territories of the Balearic Islands and Catalonia. At the moment, Catalan viewers can tune in to the IB3 Global channel (the contents of IB3, without the contents that generate a coincidence of broadcast rights between IB3 and the CCMA). A year earlier, viewers of the Balearic Islands returned to receive broadcasts of 3/24 and the channel Super3/33. At the same time, the emissions of IB3, through the IB3 Global channel, have also been recovered in the territory of Catalonia.
