History

Lotus News was launched on 11 October 2012 by a consortium headed by industrialist and BJP State secretary Mr. G.K.S. Selva Kumar.

It is owned by Seventh Vision India Private Limited. It was the first Tamil news satellite channel to have its base outside Chennai and also the first satellite channel to have its base in Coimbatore.

Lotus News is a Tamil News Satellite Channel that began its relay on 11 October 2012 headquartered at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and has been successfully broadcasting all its events acquiring a huge local and international Tamil population as its regular viewers.

The Lotus News is the Tamil news television channel that started its free live streaming through the internet which has increased its access among youths across the state of Tamil Nadu.

This channel has its slogan உண்மை மலரட்டும். The channel is run by a team headed by Dr.G.K.S.Selvakumar as Chairman. The channel was the first to introduce EXPRESS-NEWS in the Tamil language.

This program telecasts 100 news in a record-breaking time span of 30 minutes. The channel introduced the world's first transgender news anchor.

The channel also introduced a news program called "AGAKKAN" in which a specially able blind school student presents a news bulletin.
